Traditional Isshinryu
Isshinryu is an Okinawan style of karate created by Grandmaster Tatsuo Shimabuku in 1956. He was a master in both Gojo-ryu and Shorin-ryu and combined what he felt was the best of both styles to create Isshinryu. This is the foundation of our teachings, which allows us to easily apply real-world applications.
Kobudo Weapons
Kobudo is the Okinawan study of weapons. These traditional weapons consist of sai, bo, and tonfa, or tui-fa. Both Jeff Lusk (6th Degree) and Sandra Strong (8th Degree) are IIKA certified instructors for these three weapons.
Ju-Jitsu Grappling
Jiu-Jitsu is a Japanese style of fighting that was shared with Carlos Gracie in Brazil around 1925. The Gracie family expanded their teachings and eventually Jui-Jitsu came to the United States. We use fundamentals of this style to enhance our overall self defense and martial arts instruction.
