Dojo Affiliation
IIKA
Our dojo operates under the International Isshinryu Karate Association, which was created by Grandmaster Harold Long with specific blessings from Isshinryu's founder Tatsuo Shimabuku. In 1974, Grandmaster Long formed the IIKA in Knoxville, TN.
The current President is Grandmaster J.C. Burris. Board members are Carol Burris, Dave Gabbard, Donald Bordinger, Jerry Smith, Jim McDonald, Kelly Markham, Mike Lewis, Phillip McElroy, Sandra Strong, Tommy True, Tony Williams, and Scott Shamblin.
